What is Suspension Clamp

Suspension Clamp with U-shaped Plate

Main usage and feature
The diameter of the wire clip slot is large. It is for large section steel-cored aluminum conductors or conductors wrapped. All the conductors have pre-twisted wire sheathed grommets. If you use the common hanging plate, it is easy to cause deformation. These are the two reasons the U-shaped hanging plate adds to the upper end of the wire hanging plate. The combination not only reduce the bending movement of the hanging plate but also change the direction.

Strengthen Suspension Clamp—CGJ Type

Here are some main features:
Clamps have high vertical devastating load;
The cable will not get out of the clamp even in the condition of unbalanced icing on adjacent gears. This means the clamps may have enough tensile strengthen;
For the clip of the lightning conductor, the grip strength should be no less than 25% of the rated steel strand tensile strength. The grip of the clip for the steel core aluminum stranded wire should be no less than 30% of the rated wire tensile strength.

Anti Corona Suspension Clamp— CFG Type

It is for 330 kv—500 kv transmission line or high altitude transmission line. This kind of clamp have high anti-corona ability. The components of the anti-corona type includes a flared hull, two (or four) bolts (to fasten the boat hull) and the steel hoop of the suspension part. The steel hoop is in the middle of the hull, which also known as the suspension bar type.

This type of anti-corona suspension clip divides into two types: line and jumper. The jumper one also can use on substation and has weak grip.

Classified by the Position of Rotating Point

Center Swing Suspension Clamp

Main features:
The axis of the hull is above the center line of the wire. The rotation coincides with the deflection of the wire.

Carried-up Suspension Clamp—CGF Type

Characteristics:
The hull axis lies below the center line of the wire. The hull axis also has a tendency to be unstable, and its rotation often exceeds the deflection of the wire.
Function:
It is for the overhead ground wire placed on the top of the tower, and when the split wire arranges on the bar.

Aluminum Alloy Suspension Clamp

Features:

Steel Plate Punching Suspension Clamp

The hull of the wire clamp stamps from steel plate, without hanging plate. The hanging point is above the axis of the wire. The u-bolt is upward installed for convenient construction. The production process is simple with short cycle, high yield, light weight and few accessories. It is suitable for steel-cored aluminum stranded wires and medium and small sections aluminum standard wire.

Malleable Cast Iron

The hull, plate and clevis is cast iron. The material of closed pin and other spare parts are steel. We use hot-dip galvanized technic for cast iron and steel.

What is hysteresis loss?
Because of the magnetic material in the AC iron core coil, hysteresis and eddy current can create in the alternating magnetic field. This may lead power loss and heat generation to the power loss of the coil resistance. The suspension clamp’s curvature radius should be at least 8 times the diameter of the installed wire.
